Sandy-Valley: America’s Top Index Herd Shares Some Management Details
When the Holstein Association recently announced the winners of its Progressive Genetics Herd awards for 2017, the herd with the highest average TPI in the US (at 2450) was Sandy-Valley. Over the last 3 decades, numerous breed-improving sires have been products of the Bauer family’s 450-cow herd based at Scandinavia, Wisconsin.
