Ruegruet Holsteins: Still one of the most interesting addresses in Switzerland
When we visited Ruegruet Holsteins almost 20 years ago, we found one of the most exciting addresses that Switzerland had to offer. Hardly any other farm had invested with similar intensity in top international families and the capitalized on the symbiosis of show type and breeding value potential as consequently as they had. Since then, much has changed. Patrick and André Rüttimann, who took over the farm from their father Josef in 2010, continue to breed of course, but their priorities have changed, one being a more commercialized approach to dairy farming, and others being the diverse business segments that they have developed. A visit to Ruegruet is certainly different today, but certainly no less interesting than it used to be.
