S-S-I Montross Jedi Indeed, Very Straight Legs, But Still Very Influential in the Holstein Breed

His debut in August 2015 was phenomenal. Both in the US and Canada, he immediately captured both the gTPI and gLPI lead. As such, S-S-I Montross Jedi clearly became the “talk of the town” in numerous countries and received many opportunities as a sire of sons worldwide. With his +2500 lb milk (08/2015) he was described as a high calibre production bull. When his daughters came into production, they did indeed turn out to be outstanding producers, but: it also turned out that very often they displayed legs that were (too) straight. Did that come without warning? No: already in his sire report in HI 11/2016, mention was made of his straight leg set. However, the leg set on the field was worse than expected: today he scores -3.46. Even so, looking back, we see that Jedi nevertheless had a tremendous impact on the breed.
