Milchhof Diera: German Exemplar for Management, Breeding, and Productivity

Managing a large dairy (30 employees) with leading results year in, year out, requires, knowledge, organizational skills, and craftsmanship. The owners of Milchhof Diera have been very successful in this area. During the past two years, their enterprise with 1500 milking cows has been one of the six highest production herds of all German farms with 500 cows or more. But not only has the numbers of cows at Milchhof Diera increased significantly since it started in 1991, the Holsteins themselves have also become significantly larger. A trend that has been deliberately slowed down, partly thanks to the homebred bull Six Red-PP.
