The cows at Lisduff Farms in Ireland live entirely off of grass for eight months of the year, walking a significant distance daily to and from the parlour, have a seasonal calving pattern, and produce primarily for the export market: Unique circumstances that require specific breeding choices. Protein component and especially fertility always receive full attention, but type is certainly not forgotten – the current herd has 74 EX cows.
