Glinzer Holsteins: Outstanding Herd Achieved through their own Breeding Strategy
An average production of 10,756 kg (23,715 lb.) milk with 4.43% fat and 3.62% protein, average type of nearly 86 points and 16 cows that surpassed the milestone of 100,000 kg (220,000 lb.); the 74-head milking herd of Jan Thomas Vos in the northern Dutch province of Groningen is among the best in the country. This is an all-round outstanding herd based on deep, homebred cow families and they have their own unique breeding strategy. The two cows in the picture serve as examples.
