Yes, straight legs, short teats, and high pins are certainly among the points of attention with sire selection. “Knock-out traits” as they are also called – some dairy farmers immediately reject bulls if they do not transmit desirably for one of these three traits. Last year (11/2020), HI considered teat length, and now we are looking at leg set, and especially the practical side: which bulls transmit “curved” legs?
