Martino Cassandro, Passionate General Manager of the Italian Herdbook: ‘The “war” against farmers needs to come to an end.’
Only since March 2021 has he filled the position of General Manager for the Italian breeders association of Italian Holstein Friesian, Brown and Jersey breeds (ANAFIBJ), but nevertheless Martino Cassandro has future plans clearly in view; for his organization and for the industry. In his office on the outskirts of the northern Italian city of Cremona, the enthusiastic professor in animal breeding and production of the University of Padova – Cassandro working nearly 30 years with the University of Padova – speaks openly about the best genetics for Italy, communication with society, and “holistic” selection of dairy cattle.
